What Is Deep Delving and How Is It Done?

What is foliar spraying, and how is it done?

Foliar spraying is a supplementary way to decrease the amount of fertilizer applied. It is a relatively easy, fast, and efficient method, mainly used in the following cases:

  • plant immediate need for special elements
  • low absorption of the soil elements in early spring due to low root activity
  • in conditions when the soil is unsuitable for element absorption (too high or low pH level, too high or low soil moisture, deficient ventilation, etc.)
  • in lime soils with high pH where there is a high probability of some elements deficiency, such as iron, zinc, manganese, and copper

Competition rises among fruits and roots for nutrient absorption during trees’ reproductive stages. Therefore, roots are very likely to suffer from nutrient deficiency and slow growth. Foliar spraying can reduce this competition to prevent deficiencies.

Different terms influence the absorption rate of the applied solution:

  • light
  • temperature
  • relative humidity
  • leaf age
  • leaf area
  • plant nutrition condition
  • pH of the applied solution
  • surfactants

Low light intensity, low temperature, and high relative humidity increase the absorption of the applied solution; moreover, the absorption rate is enhanced if the leaf is younger and its surface is larger.

Preparation of Khazra fertilizers' solutions

The following matters should be considered before using fertilizers in both foliar spraying and fertigation methods:

  • Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers are entirely soluble in water. To use them for foliar spraying or fertigation, first dissolve the desired amount of fertilizer in a small amount of water and mix well. Then, pour the solution into the final reservoir. Under no circumstances should the fertilizer be poured directly into the final reservoir. It should be noted that water should be poured into the container first, and then the fertilizer should be added to it, not the other way around.
  • Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers form a colloidal solution in water. Therefore, leaving the prepared solution in a stagnant environment for several hours may cause particle settling. If, for any reason, there is a gap of several hours between preparing the solution and foliar spraying or fertigation, it is necessary to remix the solution well before use to ensure a uniform solution.
  • The amount of water required for foliar spraying varies depending on the tools used and the size of the droplets generated by the spray nozzles. This volume of water per hectare of field can range from 10 to 1000 liters, depending on factors such as the type of spraying equipment used, the existing green surface area, plant height and canopy, and so on.

What is the consumption amount of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers?

Considering the dosage of various types of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers and taking into account tools that create micron-sized droplets and uniformly spray the solution over the area, the amount of dissolved fertilizer in water should not be less than certain specified amounts. In other words, regardless of the method and ratio used for spraying, attention should be paid to ensure that the weight of the Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers consumed is as follows:

Consumption amount of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers in farms:

The use of Khazra chelated nano fertilizers for chelated macro elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, NPK 20-20-20, potassium, NPK 12-12-36), super, fruit set, iron, complete micro, calcium, magnesium, and silicon should not be less than 2kg. For chelated zinc, manganese, and boron fertilizers, the amount should not be less than 1g. For chelated copper fertilizer, the amount should not be less than 0.5kg, and for chelated molybdenum fertilizer, it should not be less than 250g.

Consumption amount of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers in Gardens:

The use of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers for Chelated Macro Elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, NPK 20-20-20, potassium, NPK 12-12-36), super, fruit set, iron, complete micro, calcium, magnesium, and silicon should not be less than 2 kg, for chelated zinc, manganese, and boron fertilizers, should not be less than 1 kg, for chelated copper fertilizer, should not be less than 0.5 kg, and for chelated molybdenum fertilizer, should not be less than 250 g.

N.B: If you intend to utilize many types of fertilizers in a single foliar spraying session (whether done with a drone or other available tools), it is necessary to respect the proportion of the elements according to the plant’s demands. For example, 2kg of Nano Chelated Complete Micro fertilizer and 2kg of Nano Chelated Iron fertilizer should not be sprayed simultaneously per hectare; however, simultaneous foliar spraying of 2kg of Khazra chelated complete micro fertilizer and 2kg of Khazra NPK 20-20-20 fertilizer in one hectare is permitted.

Using Khazra chelated nano fertilizers through foliar spraying or foliar feeding

Considering the importance and necessity of proper application time and method of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers to achieve the highest function, the following are required during foliar spraying:

  • Owing to Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers’ capacity to be used both through soil application and foliar spraying, there is no limitation on applying either method. However, using each method at least once during the growth stage would have better effects.
  • Mixing calcium fertilizers with other fertilizers is not recommended. It would be better if they were applied individually.
  • Do not apply fertilizers through foliar spraying to plants in the flowering stage; applying fertilizers at this stage causes flowers to drop.
  • The best time to apply foliar spraying is early in the morning before sunrise because of open stomata and a high element absorption rate. If foliar spraying is not possible at this time, late hours of the day (before it gets dark) will also be appropriate.
  • Avoid mixing Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers with pesticides containing copper.
  • The foliar spraying ratio for young trees is the same, but in deep placement or fertigation, the consumption amount is less.
  • The ratio of 1 g/L is the same as 1 gram in 1000 liters of water.

Key points in the foliar spraying of various Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers with drones:

  • In general, drones equipped with Microner nozzles are better suited for foliar spraying of Khazra chelated Nano fertilizers.
  • In the foliar spraying method with drones, we recommend you to avoid mixing different fertilizers, if possible. Yet, mixing Nano Chelated Calcium fertilizer with Nano Chelated Boron fertilizer, as well as mixing Nano Chelated Silicon fertilizer with Nano Chelated Complete Micro fertilizer, is permissible.
  • Nano Chelated Super fertilizer must be sprayed alone. If any issues occur due to nozzle type limitations, the concentration of Super fertilizer can be reduced to 750 grams per 10 liters of water.

The maximum allowable amount of fertilizers for use with a 20-liter tank drone:

  • The maximum allowable amount of powder Khazra Chelated Nano Fertilizers for use in a 20-liter tank drone is 2 kilograms when equipped with T-Jet nozzles and 4 kilograms when equipped with Microner nozzles.
  • The maximum allowable amount of Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers for use in a 20-liter drone tank is 3 liters for T-Jet nozzles and 6 liters for Microner nozzles. Please note that due to the higher density of liquid Khazra fertilizers compared to water, the amount of water added to the fertilizer should be such that the drone can take off the ground (it is not necessary for the volume of the solution in the drone tank to reach 20 liters).

The maximum allowable amount of fertilizers for use with a 10-liter tank drone:

  • The maximum allowable amount of powder Khazra Chelated Nano Fertilizers for use in a 20-liter tank drone is 1 kilogram when equipped with T-Jet nozzles and 2 kilograms when equipped with Microner nozzles.
  • The maximum allowable amount of liquid Khazra Chelated Nano fertilizers for use in a 10-liter drone tank is 2 liters for T-Jet nozzles and 4 liters for Microner nozzles. Please note that due to the higher density of liquid Khazra fertilizers compared to water, the amount of water added to the fertilizer should be such that the drone can take off the ground (it is not necessary for the volume of the solution in the drone tank to reach 10 liters).
